It should have been planted three months ago, but life intervened. Yesterday we cleared and dug up the bed and today we planted half of the cloves, hoping to finish the rest tomorrow.
Like many other areas, we haven’t seen a “normal” winter yet this year, and I figure if the rhubarb is coming up and the calendulas are still blooming, we might as well attempt to salvage some of the garlic that was sprouting in its unopened delivery box.
I have an enthusiastic and very opinionated helper, who, after gleefully “plopping” two rows of garlic into the holes by himself, and before heading off to other endeavors, informed me that tomorrow we should plant peas and carrots because he “weally wuvs them”.
We shall see.
